About Us
Brave New Books is not like other bookstores. Brave New Books is one of the first brick-and-mortar bookstores in the country to focus on the myriad of political, economic, medical and spiritual scams that populate our mainstream media today. Our goal is to educate people on a whole host of issues that we feel are suppressed by other bookstores, both the chain stores and even other anti-establishment bookstores. We endorse only one political ideology, and that is freedom. Our selection of titles offers a banquet of liberty-centric writings that dispel the need for conceptualizing our world in the binary, left vs. right way. Because of our location, just a block south of one of the largest Universities in the country, we are reaching out to our next generation of leaders at the University of Texas to encourage them to think more critically about 9-11, genetically-modified food, religious deception, the banking powers, globalization and many other critical issues that affect our daily lives.
Brave New Books was founded in the summer of 2006 and has been fighting against the enemies of the Constitution ever since. The bookstore has been very active locally, hosting screenings, speakers, and even helped sponsor the first national conference on false-flag terrorism in April of 2007 called “Rebuilding America’s Senses: Understanding False-Flag Terrorism To Prevent the New 9/11.”
Web-based bookstores offer books and videos on many of these topics, but they cannot offer the immediate sensory stimulation that comes from flipping through pages, browsing shelves and face-to-face discussion. The bookstore is also a nexus for finding other like-minded citizens here and form alliances. When the fight against the New World Order intensifies and the Internet becomes more strictly controlled, our real-world friends and allies will be in a better position to help us than our Net buddies. The store tries to hold special events each and every night. Speaking events, book signings and screenings are just some of the types of things that go on day-to-day, and we encourage people to come down and take part in the exciting atmosphere created by our events.
Because the bookstore is more than just a place to buy books or to learn new things, we try earnestly to offer more than just information to people and provide a place where people of all political stripes can talk openly about the critical issues of the day. In an age of increasing government surveillance and intimidation, we want the bookstore to become a place where people can be comfortable speaking their minds, exchanging ideas, and forming alliances so that the citizenry as a whole may become more aware of how vast we have grown and how for we have come.
The bookstore is also different from most other bookstores because we recognize the power of video as a medium to get the word out in the modern, visual era. Customers will notice that the store has several TV screens playing a variety of documentaries simultaneously that people can listen to on headphones. Our store also contains a back reading room that houses our wide selection of under-recognized periodicals and acts as a film screening room many evenings of the week. Imagine a patriot bookstore + video store + interactive museum + mini-cinema and you’ve got it!
For people outside of the Austin area or for those too busy to make it down to browse, Brave New Books is now online and offers nearly all of its in-store catalog for sale online. For our online customers, we want to replicate that sense of community and “strength in numbers” aspect of our brick-and-mortar store in Austin. To do this, we will dedicate time and energy into making the site more interactive, providing a book-blog where people can post info on a particular book or DVD and others can respond and discuss it—sort of like an online book club. We will also give people the opportunity to leave reviews on any of our titles, provided that they remain respectful. The website will also feature a wide variety of links to other sites ranging from news sites, to blogs, and even to other online bookstores.
